Heart Chakra Meditation pt. 1

Today we tackle the Heart Chakra in out series of abundance meditations.  The Heart Chakra is an important energy centre when we open our lives to abundance as it is through the Heart that we can tune in to the energies of unconditional and universal love.

Each of us is loved by the universe, though there may be times when it feels like life is a struggle, we are alone, we are sad, there is a whole "team" of energies which pour down their love to us.  Sometimes we need to heal our heart before we can feel this love, which is how our meditation today is going to help us.

This meditation has been designed as a reading meditation.  As you read through the meditation, allow the pictures to form in your mind.  If you practice this meditation enough you will be able to remember it and meditate in the normal way of sitting in a relaxed comfortable position with your eyes closed, but for now, just read through the words, allow the healing into your heart.

Time to meditate!

Go sit in your meditation space
take a nice long deep breath, light your candles and put on your music

In your mind imagine that you are walking along a pathway
The path is a deep red stone colour
Though it is made of small pebbles and rocks it is smooth to walk on
As you continue to walk, you pass by a beach on your lefthand side
the pathway changes to a mixture of orange sandstone
and yellow sand

You can feel the warmth of the pathway on the soles of your feet
this warmth spreads up through your entire body
relaxing and calming you

You realise that now, there is a small incline in the pathway
it changes colour once again to a soft pink
either side of you are deep green lush trees
you can hear the breeze in the leaves

You are now walking up quite a large hill
this is easy for you
and there is a feeling of anticipation in the air

At the top of the hill you see a large castle
it has huge windows, turrets and a large wooden door
as you approach the castle you see the brcks are the
softest pink colour

As you approach the door
it opens for you and you step into the large entrance hall
the hall is empty apart from a plinth
on this plinth sits your heart

As you approach your heart, take a good long look at it
notice if it is looking healthy
notice its colour
do not judge what you see, or any emotions you feel

Place your hands over you heart, and feel healing energies
flooding out of your palms
into your heart
flowing to the areas of your heart that need healing
do this for as long as is needed

When you are finished your heart is filled and full of healing
it is rich and bright in colour
it is healthy

As you turn to leave
your heart is reabsorbed into you
you feel your Heart Chakra full of healing
in the centre of your chest
now is the time
to take

a deep breath, a sip of water, and return to the present time.

Don't forget to write down your emotions, feelings and thoughts in your meditation journal.  There will be a time when we revisit this meditation and it will be important for you to track how the meditation has changed for you!

A Meditation Journal

Today, pick your favourite meditation from the 10 we have posted on here.  Sometimes it nice to revisit the past journeys and take them again.  Things change, the healing that took place on our previous meditations has changed your energies.

By revisiting a meditation, you can allow your subconscious or your higher self to take this healing further.  You can see the next stages of your journey, you can heal at a deeper level!

Keeping a journal of your meditations, your thoughts, feelings, emotions that have come to the surface is a great way chart your healing journey.  At the end of every meditation, make a short note.  Be honest with your writing, take note of exactly how you are feeling.

Then, every few weeks or months, look back, read through your journal, identify the most powerful meditations for you, give yourself permission for healing to take place.

Enjoy!

Entering Into Silence

Today we are going for a slightly harder meditation, its not guided, there are no words or real instructions to follow.  Don't worry if you are new to meditation and find you can't keep in meditation for a long time, for just a few moments of this powerful meditation can produce wonderful healing.

We are going to be entering into silence.  Before we do this, have a think about what noises you can hear right now.  Is the TV on in the background?  Are you listening to music?  Can you hear noises outside in the street?

Our lives are now filled with a constant noise.  Music playing in shops, traffic, people, everywhere we go there is almost a constant backing track!  Today, even if just for a few moments we are going to try and enter into our own personal silence.  By doing this we will be getting in touch with our inner being, listening not to outside noise, but to our bodies, energy system and possibly our higher self.

To do this meditation:

Take yourself into your meditation space
light a candle, but do not play your usual relaxing music
make yourself comfortable
breathe

Take 5 long deep breaths
now breathe normally
at first you will notice every single noise
your mind will whirl, random thoughts will appear

Take 5 further long deep breaths
every time you notice a noise
imagine you are turning down the volume
see yourself turning down the volume

Do this for all thoughts, for all noises

Enter into the silence

Try and keep in your own personal silence for as long as you can.  If you only manage 1 minute, accept that this is how long you needed.  You can always try again tomorrow.  Do not judge how long you were in the silence for, just accept.

Clearing the Space, Clearing the Mind!

Sometimes in life, we become cluttered.  Today we look at de-cluttering, not only physically, but emotionally as well.  Through life, we gather.  We gather people, we gather items, we also gather emotions and energies.  Look around where you are sitting right now, see what you have gathered just in one room alone.  Ask yourself this one question:

Do I really need everything I can see?

Now please do not get us wrong, we are not suggesting for a spiritual life, or an understanding of our spiritual self we have to give up all our belongings, far from it.  Surrounding ourselves with items gives us a sense of belonging and identity, however, do we really need ALL that we have?

Maybe it's not what is in this room you are in, but somewhere else in your home!  Is there a drawer, cupboard or box which is filled with items?  We all have one, it can be called our "messy drawer" you know the one, its the one you go to when you are looking for something, its the one that you put in all the little bits and pieces which may just come in handy in the future!

For today's meditation, we are not going to sit in contemplation or connect with our higher self or subconscious, we are going to do something much more physical.

Go find your messy drawer, cupboard, space
or discover the place in your home which you know needs clearing out
but haven't quite had the chance to do so yet

Be prepared, with a refuse sack, bin bag or old cardboard box
but also be prepared to face some tough decisions!

Now item by item, go through your cupboard, drawer or space
hold each item, remember where this item came from
does it have memories
or is it just something which you have gained?

Do you even recognise what it is you are holding?
Do you really know what you use it for?

Time to start clearing!

Everything that does not hold sentimental value, everything that falls into the "maybe useful one day" category needs to go.

When we declutter our physical space, we also declutter our mind making further meditation easier.  By looking at each object, remembering where it came from, then making a conscious decision to remove it from our life, helps our minds to "file" away these memories in the right place, thus enabling us to think clearer.

Enjoy your de-clutter!!

Taking time for YOU!

Often, when looking after others, we forget to look after the most important person.  YOU!  Taking time for yourself is not selfish or self indulgent, after all if you do not invest in some self care, you will be in no fit state to look after others.

You really can only give to others what you have learnt to receive yourself.  Self care is not a waste of time or money and is certainly something that you should never feel guilty about.  Think about Your time as an investment you are making on behalf of your friends and family.  When you are relaxed and happy, they can be relaxed and happy in your presence.

Self care has many aspects.  You can invest in a Massage or Reiki treatment, take time out for some Meditation (hopefully if you are a regular reader of this blog you will be spending at least 10 minutes each day, reading the meditations and using them for you!) take a long walk in nature, taking a long hot bath with bubbles and candles, or even just as simple as switching off your PC, taking the phone off the hook and enjoying a nice cup if tea.

If we do not look after ourselves we will find we start running low on energy, eventually we will need to stop, as there will be no more energy!  Fill your cup first, make yourself strong, for that WILL allow you to be strong for others!

Now let's meditate!

Take a deep breath counting to 4, hold your breath for a count of 5
Breathe out to the count of 6

Imagine yourself to be a vessel such as a measuring jug or cup
and see your seven chakras in a line within that cup or jug and
ask your higher self to show you how full of energy you are

How far up your chakra's is your personal reserve of energy?

Now let's go a little deeper

Take a look at your base chakra
see and feel your base and look at the energies
within that chakra
If the chakra is looking empty or the energy is not spinning smoothly
visualise pure clear energies flooding into that chakra

now repeat this for all your other 6 chakras

Once again, ask to see how high up your personal energy level is

Now, take a deep breathe, a sip of water and return

A Meditation for Change

Change, or rather fear of change, is one of the main reasons why we fail to achieve our full potential.  One aspect of living an abundant life is the acceptance of change.  After all, when you open your heart and your mind to receive, things WILL happen and receive you will.

As you receive, things around you, your energy, your emotions WILL change.  This is inevitable.  However, if we fear this change, we can and will stop this process from happening.  Accepting change is a big part of turning our lives around and being open to the abundant life we deserve.

Now for our meditation on Change

Take a nice deep breath close your eyes and relax

Think of a situation in your life you have wanted to change for a long
time but have resisted doing so
Ask for help from your higher self to show you what has
stopped you from implementing this change in your life

Do not judge what images, thoughts or feelings are coming through to you

Ask to be able to identify each fear, worry and anxiety which is attached to this block
and visualise each individual fear becoming a black ball of energy
These balls may vary in size or shape or even shade of black

Now, grab one of those fears and smash it against the wall
See this ball smashing and disintegrating on the wall or floor
See how the black negative energies are absorbed by the earth

Repeat this with all the fears and worries which were identified
and changed into black balls of negative energy

When you have finished, you feel lighter and brighter and safe in the knowledge
that you are able to accept change and allow change into your life

Bring yourself back to reality when you are ready, remembering to drink a nice
refreshing glass of water to help ground yourself

Give AND Receive

It is in giving that you will receive.  We do not give to receive, but we must remember that all is made of energy and energy needs to flow.  Therefore, if we hold on and refuse to give for fear of losing then we also limit and stop the flow of energy which is making its way back to us.

Remember to give from the heart for in the head, you can come up with a thousand reasons not to give.  Your mind has been conditioned into believing that there is never enough, a condition which has been created over many lifetimes.

Now for our meditation

Close your eyes and breathe deeply for a count of five breaths.

Imagine you are on your way to visit an orphanage, see yourself
packing a suitcase full of gifts and treasures to take with you
Some of the items you find yourself packing are your own
some which you have treasured for a lifetime

Do not judge what you are packing, do not change your mind
just allow this process to happen

With your suitcase full to bursting
you arrive at your destination and see a sea of faces
smiling up at you  in anticipation

One by one you hand out the gifts and with each gift you give
your heart is filled with love
At the time when your suitcase is empty you realise that your heart
is now full to bursting

You leave the orphanage
happy laughter filling your ears

Receiving

We continue out theme of abundance with a short meditation on being open to the joys of receiving.  Look into your heart, are you more of a giver in life than a receiver?  Do you find it easy to help others but struggle when someone helps you?

Maybe its time we learn how to give unconditionally but also receive unconditionally!

As with all these quick meditations, please make yourself comfortable, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, centre, focus and you are ready to begin your meditation.

If you find it difficult to accept gifts of any kind, take a few moments to
look deep into your heart and ask yourself why

Is there guilt associated in accepting the gifts?
Do you not feel worthy enough to receive the gifts?

Ask in your mind where these feelings come from.
When the answer is given, either in word, memory or picture,
just accept the answer from your subconscious, don't judge just accept.

Now imagine you are standing beneath a huge Christmas tree
There is an open fire in the background, there are lights and candles on the tree
decorations are sparkling in the soft light.

Beside the tree is your guardian angel
Beside them, there is a huge pile of brightly wrapped gifts
Beautiful paper, ribbons, packages in all shapes and sizes

Your guardian angel tells you that these are all the gifts you have been offered
in your past, each one you refused, but they were kept safe for you

Now is the time to open them, open all the gifts, receive them with the love in which they were offered!

Becoming a Magnet!

We follow on from our abundance meditation of yesterday with a very special meditation to help boost your life.  Take a moment and answer this question as honestly as you can.

What do you believe you attract into your life?

Would you believe that the world you live in and experience is really just a manifestation of your belief system?  When you live this universal rule you leave no room to apportion blame for any of your misfortune on anyone or anything!

More so, there is no one punishing you, there is no one GOD making you pay for past deeds, demanding forgiveness, for this is what you are doing to yourself.  Its time to take control, its time to begin to attract only the good in your life.  Of course, life is an experience, along with good there has to be bad, this is balance!  But there are no rules that say you have to suffer the bad ALL the time.  Become a magnet for good energies, draw all the good of the universe to you.

Time for our meditation!

Take a deep breath, close your eyes and muster up as much love as you can.
Feel this love welling up from inside your heart, freely flowing through your entire physical being
Love is flowing from you and to you uplifting you with its strength

Now feel the core of your being solidifying, becoming magnetic as more and more
energy is concentrating in your soul

You feel confident and happy

Imagine you are now walking out of your home
everyone is smiling at you as you walk down the street
Strangers do good deeds for you
You family are happy and confident
your own happiness and confidence is infecting them

The whole world is at your feet
you only attract positivity into your life!

At the end of each meditation, remember to ground yourself before continuing with your day!

Abundance

When you hear the word abundance, what immediately springs to mind?  For many of us the word abundance equates to money!  Remember, lately we have been conditioned to think that "Money is the Root of all Evil!"  In actual fact, the real quote is "The Love of Money is the Root of All Evil!"  If you are lucky enough to have an abundance of money and the strength of character to handle the great responsibility that comes with wealth, you will know that money does not equate to evil, nor does it need to change the good person you are.  However, the problem comes when the acquisition of wealth becomes more important to you than friendships and family.

But there is so much more to abundance than just receiving money.  Learning to be abundant means learning to accept from the universe; learning to accept from others!  Abundance comes in many forms: Love, Health, Happiness, Peace, whatever there is a lack of in your life, opening up to abundance and the possibilities of the universe can help you achieve the life you deserve to live.

Now for our meditation on Abundance.

Go and look at the stars at night, or if this is difficult, visualise in your 3rd eye
a beautiful starry night.
See how many stars there are in front of your eyes, dwell on this, concentrate on it.
This is true abundance, there are billions of stars in the universe! As there is this abundance above, so it exists below on our beloved earth.  Think of the trillions of pebbles on the beach, around the world, the billions of blades of grass.
What a wonderful world we inhabit!
Breathe deeply, feel the energy of this abundance filling your aura, feel the power of this abundance flowing through to the centre of you.

FREEZE!

Time to switch off!

At some point during your day, just stop what you are doing!  That's right, FREEZE!

Let your vision drift in and out of focus, breathe deeply for a few moments, then breathe normally!  Relax your shoulders, relax your head, if you can, close your eyes.

Let your thoughts drift in and out like the waves of the ocean, you are a rock, solid and firm, nothing more, nothing less.

Stay like this for as long as you can................... Then continue with your day!

Obviously, I dont need to say that you need to make sre you are not operating heavy machinery, pouring boiling liquid, driving in heavy traffic or doing anything that will put your life in danger if you suddenly freeze.  But why have I included this simple meditation?

Our days are spent constantly thinking, acting, reacting and our minds are always alert, ticking away like little clocks.  Even as you read this you are probably thinking about something else as well!

Meditation is about learning how to deal with a distraction.  Throughout your day, there will be many "down"times where you can do this, maybe you are waiting for a bus, just sitting on the sofa watching the TV, buttering your morning toast!

Take your mind by surprise, give it a treat, try this meditation exercise.

Now breathe!

Blessings

David

The 10 Minute Meditator

You may have found this blog totally by accident, but really, is there such thing as accident?  Maybe your subconscious has led you here today to help you start connecting with your body, start focusing your mind and to help you manifest the life you long.

Today is just a quick 10 minute meditation for you.  It is here to help you unlock the myths surrounding meditation and to show you exactly what meditation is.

First, find a comfortable place to sit, be sure that you wont be interrupted for at least 10 minutes.  It might be a good idea to turn off your mobile phone, turn on some relaxing music and perhaps light a candle.  Come on, lets really get in the mode for meditation!

Consciously relax your body.  For now, to do this, just make sure you are comfortable.  Let your mind lead you to where there is discomfort in the body and when you realise where this is, shift a little, become comfortable again, and repeat this process until you are settled.

When you are ready, close your eyes and breathe.  Take long slow breaths, really feel the air flowing in and out of your lungs.

Now is not the time to try and get a totally clear mind, it is virtually impossible unless you have studied meditation for years to empty your mind of all thought.  Just allow the thoughts to come and then to pass.  Don't judge what you are thinking, just be at peace in the knowledge that the thoughts are there.

When you are ready, it will be time to bring yourself back to the present.  Take your time, open your eyes, take a sip of water, stand, shake out your arms and maybe do some neck rolls.

Try and do this light and simple meditation at the beginning of the day to help focus the mind and become prepared for the challenges that the day may bring you!

Enjoy your meditation!
